The role of a consultant is to consult. If the client does not listen to and does not apply that advice then there is very little a consultant can do.
Having said the above, Pamela / we should always try to think of the best processes, even if the client wants some thing "sub-optimal". The reason for this is our own survival. There would be a next project, there would be a next evaluation and we would have to add value to the next project and the next project, in order to do what we want to do.
