Whenever we create a condititon record in VK11, a Condition record number is generated (as can be viewed from KONP table KNUMH field. My question is that where can we view this number from the condition record on VK12 or VK13?

RE:[sap-log-sd] Automated Material Variant Creation

No way...you should have a material variant created already.

Subject: Automated Material Variant Creation

Experts,

Is there an automated way to create material variants once a configuration is entered on a sales order, if one does not already exist?
Take an example, I have configurable material ComputerA which is a laptop computer. Say there are two possible configurations, 2GB of memory or 4GB of memory. Let's say that I have a material variant already for the 2GB configuration, and say that I called it ComputerA_2GB. If I were to create a sales order for ComputerA and configure it with 2GB of memory, then I could have my item category set to swap in the the material variant ComputerA_2GB automatically.
Now assume that I create an order for ComputerA but configure it with 4GB of memory. I have not previously created a material variant for this. Is there a way to have ECC dynamically create that material variant and swap it into my line? So the process would be: create line item for configured material, if material variant exists, swap in, if material variant does not exist, create the material master for the variant and then swap that material in. Is there any way to do this without custom code?

Thanks.

Hi Karthikeyan,

Since the Tables are customized in your system, choose the appropriate and execute in SE16 - Tcode so that it would display the record number for the particular condition type.

Hope it helps.

HI Srikant,

A512 does not exist. I guess it should be A510 and A512.

Regards,
Karthikeyan.

RE:[sap-log-sd] Add Destination Zone in Sales Order

Posted by Typewriter
on Nov 1 at 1:34 AM
Hi Sarat,

Please give some examples of values filled by users in the sales orders in field(s) like Distance in miles (currently not available).

E.g.
In VA01, for the same Delivering plant, ShipTo (shipping point and route), in field "Distance" the user can fill 50miles, or 55miles, or 75miles. Can that be the case?
The above means for the same route R1 there could be variable distance traveled by the truck (train etc.).

I have gone through the pricing field catalog, to get some fields that could be used and are already there in the standard functionality. Please take a look at ShipTo TXREG_ST, ShipFrom TXREG_SF etc.

The concept I am thinking about is if a condition table can be created with Starting point and Ending point. And put in the freight condition type. And then create condition records for the various values. Then system shall find a valid condition record based on the Start, End point in the sales order and populate the value of the freight condition type.

But easiest would be have set miles for Routes (R1 = 60miles, R2 = 55miles etc.) then you can use condition technique and get the freight values in the sales order automatically.

Where can one find Destination zone (LZONEL)?

Dear Experts,

I would like to add field Destination Zone (LZONEL) and Distance in miles (currently not available any where) to the sales order, so that I could use them in my pricing, particularly to determine freight cost.

Request your help, it is most appreciated.

Warm regards,
Sarat.

RE:[sap-log-sd] Warning vs. Error Message in In-completion Procedure

Posted by Typewriter
on Nov 1 at 1:02 AM
Hi SAP_OTC,

Why did you not think of "selecting" an already mandatory field in the sales order e.g. ShipTo or Plant or Shipping point? Why did you go for Order Reason?

What are those two other values (fields) that get triggered? In the current scenario, when the user fills in Order reason "late", and thereby the two fields are not populated, does user manually have to fill in these values?

Thank you for sharing!

Subject: Warning vs. Error Message in In-completion Procedure

Hi Typewriter, thanks for your reply.

The problem is not so much saving the Document without assigning the field.

The problem is, that field triggers the proposal of two other values in the Sales Document, this proposal is in a User-Exit. If the User populates the field after entering the Material # then the proposal doesn't take place and the User ends having issues during the Shipping Process.

What I wanted to do is that as soon as they populate the main Order Entry Screen with Sold-to, Ship-to, Material # and press Enter, instead of getting a Warning Message saying "Enter Order Reason", I would want that message to be an Error, that way they have to enter it right there and the proposal still takes place OK.

They do enter the Order Reason; but sometimes as I said, they enter it at the end of the whole Order Entry Process and at that point the Enhancement doesn't go back to propose the values that I need. I'm trying to avoid further coding, I guess I could code something in the User-Exit SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE; but if I could get that Warning to be an Error then I could avoid extra coding.

Hi,

Please check if MV45AFZB meets yours requirement. In this Exit, system will prompt error message immediately after entering the material code. Just you need to right the coding accordingly.

Thanks

For one of the fields in my SD In-completion Procedure I would like to send an error message vs. a warning.

Is there a way to do this? The In-completion Procedure definition only allows you to select whether a warning should be sent.

RE:[sap-log-sd] Make 'Region' Mandatory on One-Time Customers

I think it might be part of the address format in OY01.

How can the field 'Region' be made mandatory for the order entry person to populate during order entry. Going to the field selection for that account group CPD and making the REGIO field mandatory does not make it mandatory during order entry. The field 'City' is mandatory and I am trying to figure out where the settings are maintained for 'CITY' to be mandatory. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

SJ

RE:[sap-log-sd] Make 'Region' Mandatory on One-Time Customers

Hi SJ,
I'm not sure but I think it's contained in the Central Address Management section. There are many countries that have specific requirements with regard to the address layout on documentation (such as where to show the zip code on an address label). So my guess is that address checks that are done during order entry are different from the field status settings in business partner config.
Sorry, can't help any more. Perhaps someone else can chime in?
Regards,
Dutch

Review the MV45A* programs. I think there is a userexit that does execute after entering the customer numbers in VA01.
