further to Typewriters solution... if you create two transport zones... one for less than 30KM and one for greater than 30K.. then you can determine the route and transit time automatically.
this is standard SAP.

I have requirement where in the delivery date is dependent on distance.
Distance less than 30 miles 1 day delivery.
Distance more than 30 miles within 3 days delivery.
Is there any other way apart from creating two document types with different delivery lead times?
Client wants it to be an automated one, dont want to change the delivery date in sales order.
