I could understand the first part of your answer, but could you please explain the last part
'When the business team responsible for the proposed
changes are happy with their simulation runs then they can release the
changes and then the records will be picked up with the appropriate pricing
date as before.'
as I am unable to grasp the situation.

What kind of changes would that apply for, ie. the pricing release status and what is the simulation here.
