In addition to a good post by Eklavya, in the schedule line category of Consignment Fillup the field "Item rel. f. dlv." is ACTIVATED.
In your system, someone may have changed the standard configuration.
Please check in another SAP system.
Because there is movement of stock (from company warehouse to client warehouse or consignment warehouse) there HAS TO BE a movement type (i.e. 631).
If there is NO movement of stock happening, then the field "movement type" is BLANK, in a schedule line category (in VOV6).
Few days back, I did a test -
1. in VOV6 created schedule line category ZZ, where the field "movement type" was blank. field "relevant f dlv." was activated
2. Stock overview in MMBE, for material M1, in Plant P1 and storage location A001 was 100EA
3. created sales order with 20EA from Plant P1, storage loc A001, delivery and did PGI
4. checked stock of material M1 in MMBE, for Plant P1, st. location A001 = 100EA
Because there was NO movement type defined, the system "did NOT know" from where to "pick" the stock of 20EA. Thus stock before PGI was 100EA and after PGI was also 100EA!
To conclude, if there could be movement of stock, the field "Movement type" has to be filled. This field (Mvt. type) shall instruct the system to "pick" the stock and thus manage the inventory.
If there is NO movement of stock, then the field "Movement type" SHOULD BE BLANK.
