The number range in basically picked up from the VOFA field "Number range int. assignment". This is the first step. From here if the customers wants further bifurcation of number ranges (for example region in this case), then this number range mentioned in VOFA can be further assigned to the desired characteristics (region, etc) which can be mapped using the custom table.
After this the next help would be from the user exit while saving the document to assign the appropriate number ranges from the custom table.
