Have you heard the concept of Webservices?
It's a wonderful tool to bring the data from Non SAP to SAP for real time data
exchange. Recently we have tried it for SAP R3 to MS Dynamics CRM.
If your legacy system can create webservice application, a ABAP program
can call that Webservice periodically and the data that is changed or
created stored in the temporary table of your legacy system shall be
retrieved using webservice application.
The ABAP program should run in background to call the webservice
periodically.
