If I were to create a sales order for ComputerA and configure it with 2GB of memory, then I could have my item category set to swap in the the material variant ComputerA_2GB automatically. Now assume that I create an order for ComputerA but configure it with 4GB of memory. I have not previously created a material variant for this. Is there a way to have ECC dynamically create that material variant and swap it into my line? So the process would be: create line item for configured material, if material variant exists, swap in, if material variant does not exist, create the material master for the variant and then swap that material in. Posted by Typewriter on Nov 1 at 1:34 AM Hi Sarat, Please give some examples of values filled by users in the sales orders in field(s) like Distance in miles (currently not available). E.g. In VA01, for the same Delivering plant, ShipTo (shipping point and route), in field "Distance" the user can fill 50miles, or 55miles, or 75miles. Can that be the case? The above means for the same route R1 there could be variable distance traveled by the truck (train etc.). I have gone through the pricing field catalog, to get some fields that could be used and are already there in the standard functionality. Please take a look at ShipTo TXREG_ST, ShipFrom TXREG_SF etc. The concept I am thinking about is if a condition table can be created with Starting point and Ending point. And put in the freight condition type. And then create condition records for the various values. Then system shall find a valid condition record based on the Start, End point in the sales order and populate the value of the freight condition type. But easiest would be have set miles for Routes (R1 = 60miles, R2 = 55miles etc.) then you can use condition technique and get the freight values in the sales order automatically. Why did you go for Order Reason? What are those two other values (fields) that get triggered? In the current scenario, when the user fills in Order reason "late", and thereby the two fields are not populated, does user manually have to fill in these values? The problem is not so much saving the Document without assigning the field. The problem is, that field triggers the proposal of two other values in the Sales Document, this proposal is in a User-Exit. If the User populates the field after entering the Material # then the proposal doesn't take place and the User ends having issues during the Shipping Process. What I wanted to do is that as soon as they populate the main Order Entry Screen with Sold-to, Ship-to, Material # and press Enter, instead of getting a Warning Message saying "Enter Order Reason", I would want that message to be an Error, that way they have to enter it right there and the proposal still takes place OK. They do enter the Order Reason; but sometimes as I said, they enter it at the end of the whole Order Entry Process and at that point the Enhancement doesn't go back to propose the values that I need. There are many countries that have specific requirements with regard to the address layout on documentation (such as where to show the zip code on an address label). So my guess is that address checks that are done during order entry are different from the field status settings in business partner config. Sorry, can't help any more.
