Hello all!
Due to the way we manage sales orders we have a number of shipments that legitimately leave the building (PGI) after the load date. Because deliveries and paperwork have been generated for some time we cannot change the load date on the sales order. We hold our plants (shipping points) accountable for making the load date but because of customer situations [pickup, international, customer supplied carrier, date changes at the last minute] we make it virtually impossible for them to "ship on time" for some subset of our sales orders. A possible solution to this has been proposed: generate a list of Reason Codes for late shipments and let the plant enter that reason for the late shipment.
This would seem to translate to determine a field that already exists on the delivery, define the codes, allow the plant to enter the reason code, report on that data.
Any ideas, suggestions?
