In addition to reading these posts, I would advise you to practice in your test system, keeping some scenarios with business partners in mind. This practice shall not only clear your concepts but also help keep things in memory.
E.g. partner procedures for -
CMR
Sales order - header, item
Delivery - header
Billing doc - header, item
partner function flow from one to another document, from one level to another level (i.e. header to item, in the same document)
S.order --> Delivery --> Billing doc.

Hello experts,
This is a simple question but I want to know how partner determination at sales order differs from that at customer master. Why we need two levels of partner determination or even more?
The reason I am asking is we are migrating customer master from legacy to SAP ECC 6.0. We are also migrating open sales order. How does partner determination differs in two conversions?
