Q: "How many values are stored in that 11 digit field?" A: around ten thousands.

Q: "and what does it actually represent?" A: legacy record no, first 7 digits assigned serially.

Q: 'is there any inbuilt "intelligent" logic?" A: yes for rest 4 digits.

Q: "I ask this to see if you could use a combination of fields etc..."

A: What about using combination of attributes 6 to 10 or condition grp 1 throgh 5? I will try to make sub-group within the group.

Q: Additionally an optiojn is to use the Classification system and create a class with a characteristic that is basically the field you wish to store. This allows that field to be validated etc. although this may not be copied through to the billing doc .. BI could always still extract it.

A: I am unaware of this configuration. Tell me, I will test.

As a functional consultant, I appreciate your great math and creativity within constraints:
"For example.... there may be less than 999 variations of this 11 digit code... then WE CAN out that in a 3 digit customer group code and use 000 - 999 codes and put the old 11 digit code into the customer group's description... or even 000-ZZZ could be used giving 36 x 36 x 36 = 46656 options."

We want to add a field in customer master that should flow to sales order. This field is price related in client's legacy system but we don't use in ECC 6.0's pricing procedure.

How do we add fields in customer master? How to select related table and program?
