I am not completely certain if I have understood your query.
1. If you have already created a CMR (C10) with reference to another CMR (C2), and you want to change sales area data in C10, then you can do that in XD02.
2. If you wan to create a new CMR from C2 without sales are data, then you can go to XD01 fill in account group, etc. For copy from or reference just give C2 with (or without co cd) keeping sales area blank.
