Well for my cross company postings the profit centre is blank (Germany sales to Italy) so how can SAP determine the correct profit centre ... userexit in 0KEM!!

I already defined substitution rule via 0KEM (indicated profit center per distribution channel) and 0KEL (activation status 3).. yet when I created the sales order, still, the profit center defined in the material master was the one copied instead of the substitution rule.

Anything else needed in the configuration? In SD perhaps?
