I don't understand the full process, but using your order type you could use program MV45AFZZ to determine the storage location for the sample.

Subject: How should we ship pre-production samples in SAP?

SAP Gurus, I work for a manufacturing company running ECC6. We are currently developing a process to ship pre-production samples from SAP rather than Camstar. Our original plan was to use a new order type that was able to ship a non-production material status prior to standard orders being able to ship the same material. Our configuration team says that the ability to ship a material based on its status is a global setting and cannot be varied by order type. Does anyone have a recommended solution for this issue?

Simple product life-cycle
Pre-production (kept in a pre-production inventory location)
<product qualification>
Production (kept in FGI)
<End of life notification>
Last time buy - Last time ship (kept in FGI)
<final ship date>
Obsolete

Prior to today, all pre-production material has been shipped from our WIP tracking system in a very manual process.

We want to be able to book orders for pre-production samples and production samples prior to production release, but only allow pre-production sample orders to ship.

Can anyone recommend a solution?
