1. What is the roles do conditions types NA00 and R100 play in free good determination. I am unable to view customization for NA00 in setup.
Ans 1 - SD uses condition technique for many basic functions e.g. pricing, output, text determination. Because these functions use condition techniques all have "condition types" but pricing condition types (PR00, R100 etc.) are DIFFERENT (should be see totally separately) from free goods condition types (NA00).
That is the reason you can not see NA00 in V/06.
Also NA00 does not feature in the pricing procedure in V/08. As it is not related to pricing.
For free goods determination you use NA00 free goods condition type.
You can conclude that the working of free goods condition type is same as working of pricing condition type (e.g. PR00)
R100 -
This is a pricing condition type. When you assign a material the item category as TANN, then R100 shall act as discount and the goods shall be free.
The reason why R100 is activated for TANN (in VOV7) is that TANN has field "Pricing" = B
2. What is the difference between R100 and NRAB.
Ans 2 - NRAB
example 1 - In free goods determination you have configured for M1, if 10EA are purchased then 2 EA shall be free.
Customer wants in the sales order, 1 item line with quantity = 10EA, but Net value of 8EA. In that case NRAB shall be active, in your sales order, Tab Condition; and that shall be = the value of 2EA (minus). As NRAB is discount cond type.
This is depend upon your settings in VBN1, field "FGDelyCo" = 3 (Inclusive rebate (w/o item gen; only for sales)

R100 -
example 2 - In free goods determination you have configured for M1, if 10EA are purchased then 2 EA shall be free.
In VA01, you give 10EA, automatically 2 line items are created -
#10 - 8EA with TAN
#11 - 2EA with TANN

If you go to #11, Tab Condition, you can see discount R100 condition type; making net value for 2EA = 0

Thus if customer requirement is only one line item to be shown in sales order (with 10EA), then system activates NRAB (giving discount for 2EA)
If customer requirement is 2 line items, then R100 is activated in the #11; giving discount for 2EA

These are options given by SAP to represent the quantity of goods, in required number of line items.
You shall get more explanation if you go to your pricing procedure in V/08 and press F1 at Requirement and Base CalType for R100 and NRAB.

Subject: Free good determination

Hello experts,

I have a couple of doubts, it would be great if you can share your knowledge and clarify them

1. What is the roles do conditions types NA00 and R100 play in free good determination. I am unable to view customisation for NA00 in setup.

2. What is the difference between R100 and NRAB.

Your views are most appreciated.

Warm regards,
Sarat.
