Region Code is to know the State in which the customer is in and for
transportation Transportation zone is to be used ..

For India, States are mapped to SAP Region Codes and is used for Tax purposes.
Region (Customer Region, Delivery Plant Region) is available in Field Catalog of Condition Tables, which can be used Pricing.
