Since you are referring to another document, depending on the copy control relationship that exist between the documents, it is possible that the dates referring to the old period have been copied from the document you have referred to. However, you will not edit the dates if the copy control does not allow to change but please check if you can not edit the field 'billing date ' under the header tab in the accounting data area.
