Hi
"Thus I assumed that if access sequence is kept in "central data source" and can be accessed across clients, surely it can be accessed across modules (in the same client)".

>accessed across the clients thus it can be accessed across modules. There is flaw in this logic ..take for example material data (say mara) it is primarily maintained in MM module and is accessed across module ( sales & Distribution Finished Goods , FI Billing
, co - spreading the cost and so on and so forth). Across the clients and across the modules(functionality of applications ) are two different views. Client is the highest entity of enterprise structure (one step higher then company code and even one step higher then controlling area) . Functionality wise it represents a "Consolidated Company" a "FlagShip".
Technically speaking a client maintains its own copy of application table . Thus client 800 and 1200 will have their own copy of VBAK , VBAP , MARA and so on. But their are some datasets which are shared by all clients(including 000) .Thus when you say that access sequence is cross client you can see what it means . The system is telling you to be cautious . If you muddle here you muddle everywhere. Now about applicability of Condition Technique in MM , this is true . The same application is being used in MM and S&D . And much more ...viz ALE and document output(like sap script , sap mails ) . The umbrella term for what you call condition technique in S&D is called "Message Control" . FI uses a different method for account determination. But MM for Material Determination , material Swapping etc uses Message Control , S&D for Price determination uses Message Control.
Please read the documentation of message Control, it would be certainly helpful as it touches the common base:>>>>>

Subject: Reference condition type

Hi Lakksh,

The solution according to you was - "created the access sequence as the same in SD for the condition type in MM and assigned that access sequence to the Purchasing Condition type and it worked."

Initially I was thinking (in my earlier post too) that access sequence is not the problem.

In V/07, creation of access sequence, (at the start, before entering) we get warning message "Caution: The table is cross-client"
Thus I assumed that if access sequence is kept in "central data source" and can be accessed across clients, surely it can be accessed across modules (in the same client). But this was not the case!

alok,

Could you please share some information about -
1. Information storage + structure & accessibility of that information
2. Information which is accessible cross-client; could it be accessed by different modules?

Many Thanks!
