Interesting post!
After some tests, below is my understanding of your business situation + issue (one part of the issue) -
1. CMR has SP, SH1, SH2, SH3
2. In XD05 SH1 was blocked for delivery
3. When user created sales order with SP and SH1, delivery could not be created
4. BUT when user created sales order with SP and SH2, delivery could be created. & That is CORRECT, as for SH2 there is NO DLV BLOCK set in the system.
5. Thus now you have set block for SP
6. If you create sales order with SP & either one of the shipto parties, delivery can NOT be created.
So, XD05, field customer could be for any partner function (& the effect - of BLOCKAGE - shall take place ONLY if that partner function is in the document).
General comment - For this business issue, it can be seen - how precisely SAP has built their system.

I found the reason why one business unit worked and the other not. The delivery block needs to be set on the ship-to-party. In some instances the sold-to and ship-to are the same in the sales orders but in other instances we can have many (up to 80) ship-to parties that can be selected on the sales order. We want to block deliveries then based on the sold-to because he is the guy there is a problem with, not paying account, etc. For our credit management department it will take them days to block all the ship-to's and then when the customer pays his account all to be unblocked again. |
