Hi Bob,

Please read below business scenario, I discussed - today - with Roger w.r.t. this query. This is how my company does it.

To make the below business scenario possible SAP allows to create deliveries for material with inadequate stock. (Please note: creation of deliveries documents is different from "completion of delivery process". Furthermore, at the time of PGI - the below message is what I got)

Hi Roger,

It is possible to create deliveries with no (or inadequate) stock.

Business scenario w.r.t. your query -
The order entry staff create the delivery and they pass these delivery notes to the warehouse staff to do the picking, packing etc. activities.

Order entry staff work during office hrs only. Say in office hours (9am to 5pm), there is no stock for a material. The order entry staff should be able to create deliveries for that particular material, even if there is no stock. Later that evening (say at 7pm) stock has come in; & at 8pm warehouse staff have done picking etc for the outbound delivery that was created in the morning. & the goods leave the warehouse for delivery that same evening (goods reach at customer at 11pm).

If you have comments, please do convey them.
Many thanks!

Subject: Create delivery note without checking stock

How was the delivery created in the first place if there was not sufficient stock?

Thank you
