Hi BOB/Typewriter,

You can use OVM1, OMT4 or OVAH to know how to change the Message from Error
to warning or no message.

The initial query was - could a delivery doc (i.e. 800####) be made, in the case of inadequate stock. The answer to that is yes.
During (attempting) PGI the below message is seen -
Message no. 7021 "Deficit of SL Unrestricted-use XX EA: Material Plant Slocation"

From that message you can conclude, my below remark -
Depending upon the settings, this message could be a warning or an error, thus if it is a warning you could proceed further, if it is an error message you can not proceed further.

Exactly how to configure the "settings" for this message to be a warning or an error, I do not know. I am sure the experts here can help.
