but earlier when i used to change the date in PO and then check the order the date used to get updated in the order but now its not. I am unable to understand why.

I have a problem with availability not running after creating purchase order. Ideally when we create a purchase order the date should flow automatically in the sales order without we running the availability check but currently it's not flowing automatically.
