Dear Karl,
I have already assigned to the item category of sales document, but
when check the dip profile in tcode ODP2 it shows Red light indicator
instead of Green could kindly let me know what the issue and how to
should this problem.

Also where do I have to assign the expenditure to the item.

1. If you are using PS, you can generate the project through ATO from any sales document. You can also create the project manually if needed, but that creates extra work for the users and creates opportunity for disconnected WBS and sales doc items. You can have the DIP profile on any document item.

2. If you are using actual cost line items as your source, you are probably missing costs posted to the object which are within the selections defined in your DIP. Put a breakpoint on your select of COVP to see what is or is not being selected.

3. DP81 reads only planned costs to create a quote. Your error suggests that the sales document you entered does not have an item with a DIP profile.
