Reading the chapter of partner determination shall give you a clear idea about required configuration, possible options. Thus first read the theory of partner determination.
The below steps shall give you an initial idea about the various configuration steps needed in SD for meeting the above mentioned business requirement -
1. (must already done maybe by Master data team HR department) Creation of a contact person e.g. 500 = Mr. Ray Harris; contact person / sales employee with partner function CP
2. In the partner procedure; path -
IMG>SD>Basic Functions>Partner Determination>Set Up Partner Determination
Set Up Partner Determination for Customer Master
Partner Determination Procedure - that is assigned to your Customer Account group - make sure that it contain the partner function CP.
3. In XD02, in your customer master record you can then include the contact person master record in the following -
Button Sales Area Data, Tab Partner Functions
4. To add partner function CP in the partner procedure assigned to the Sales document type -
In the partner procedure; path -
IMG>SD>Basic Functions>Partner Determination>Set Up Partner Determination
Set Up Partner Determination for Sales document Header
Partner Determination Procedure make sure that it contain the partner function CP. Mark the partner function CP as M = Mandatory
5. In VA01, test by creating a sales order (with this sales document type). Check at header level, Tab Partners if CP and corresponding contact person record has been populated here.

If I create a partner function within customer master let's say contact person - how can I link that onto the sales order for every time I enter a sales order for that given customer so it automatically triggers the contact person stated within customer master |
