Hello,
Do you know of any other methods for maintaining customer classification beside XD02? Client does not want users to have authorizations to change customer master data other than classification.

I think you mean class type 011, 001 is material classification.Create your Characteristics first via CT04
Create your 011 class and add in the characteristics.
In XD02 assign the Class and set the characteristic values.
