RE:[sap-log-sd] Scale Pricing doesnt Update

Hi Jim,

After testing this again today, I have to conclude that SAP automatically processes (recalculates / goes back to consider ALL line items) ALL line items to ascertain the correct value, in case of group condition type with routine (or without routine), i.e. User does NOT have to click on ANY button.

Please test this (again). I think that is the beauty of SAP that it teaches us something new and different even after 15+ years of experience.

My test details are below -

condition type = ZK29 (copy of K029), with group condition routine = 01
condition record is as follows -
From 10KG, 10Euros- per kg
From 20KG, 20Euros- per kg
From 30KG, 30Euros- per kg

In MM01, M1 with Material pricing group = 01

In VA01 -
Case1-
line#10, M1 2EA (= 2KG), Header Tab Condition ZK29 = 0. As below 10KG, there is NO discount
line#20, M1 6EA (= 6KG), Header Tab Condition ZK29 = 0. As below 10KG, there is NO discount (total now = 2+6 = 8KG)
line#30, M1 4EA (= 4KG), Header Tab Condition ZK29 = 12X10Euros-. As below 10KG, there is NO discount (total now = 8+4 =12KG)
NOTE user has NOT pressed any button, system is calculating ZK29 value automatically.

Case 2 -
In VA02 -
add line#40 M1 9EA
Header Tab Condition ZK29 = 21X20Euros-. As from 20KG, there is 20Euro- per KG discount (total now = 8+4 =21KG)
NOTE user has NOT pressed any button, system is calculating ZK29 value automatically.

Also, withOUT going to Header Tab Condition, if user SAVES the order, and then with VA03, user can see that value of ZK29 is automatically updated by the system

Case3-
In VA03 -
DELETE line#10 and line#20 i.e. delete 8KG
Thus total KG = 13KG
ZK29 = 13X10Euros-
NOTE user has NOT pressed any button, system is calculating ZK29 value automatically.

In short, system is process automatically, by recalculating EVERYTIME, by taking ALL the item lines in the sales order. There is NO need to click on RE-DETERMINE (i.e. Update + option B) or go to Header in VA02.

Please test it and see for yourself. It might be a learning, for you, for the future. As learning never stops.

If I am misunderstanding or testing with inaccurate assumptions, then please inform me. It would help my learning.

Subject: Scale Pricing doesnt Update

I'm not able to follow your example, and I still stand by my original opinion if you use group pricing with a routine that based on overall value and scale basis on value. If you have a group condition routine that is based on the overall document value, and the scales are based on value, the lines that are entered at the beginning of order entry that do not push the value over the threshold into the next scale bracket do not automatically get updated when the next line is added that does push the value over the threshold. Even if you go into header pricing, you won't (or at least I don't) see the updated scale condition value until you press update. This is what I'm seeing in testing and this is what I've understood during the 15+ years I've worked in pricing.

I think we've beaten this issue up enough, so let's move on to something more productive.
