Hi Sumanth.G, 1. Your initial question was "Can anyone explain, in which cases, do we use this S.Line category; CD. (without delivery) All the controls are deactivated here." The answer to that is in the link i.e. in processes where user wants to deal with Service related products. (e.g. Service to the TV by visiting clients home) The process steps are Creation of sales order --> Billing. (NO delivery) System related configuration could be Material type DIEN, Item category gr. LEIS, Item category TAD, Schedule line CD. In the post, author also explains - - Movt. type is blank. Reason there is NO need for a link between material & Inventory management (including stock in warehouse etc.) - Transfer of Requirement and availability check are blank. Reason is - maybe - business doesnot want to do any availability check because these are not manufacturing related goods. These are service related. - Relevant for delivery is blank. Reason is NO delivery. Thus why are the fields in CD blank. 2. Another point is - Why do we need to have BLANK schedule line? If you conduct 2 tests - 2.1 An item category e.g. ZTAD withOUT schedule line category - In line item level, Tab Sales, field = Target quantity (NOT Order quantity). Also Order quantity for that line item shall be greyed OUT. Target quantity - Is NOT same as Ordered quantity And that is what the author explained. 2.2. An item category e.g. ZZTD with schedule line category CD - In VA02, In line item level, Tab Sales, field = Order quantity 3. Another example - In case of Inquiry, item cat. AFN, schedule line category AT AT also is Totally blank. But AT is needed to get the schedule lines and from these lines get the delivery date. Even though with an inquiry there is NOT going to be a delivery, but to give the customer a delivery date, schedule line category is needed. & to have Order quantity not greyed out sc. line category is needed. If something is not clear or you have comments, then please share them. Furthermore, you said that you have got the answer, could you please share it with us?

That post is pretty vague & I also disagree with some ( most) of the points mentioned. For eg. it says that, for service item w/o delivery, *If you truly don`t want deliveries. What you can do is to make copy of item category TAD (ie ZTAD) and change the item category type from standard (BLANK) to value item (A). Leave schedule line allow turned on and make sure item relev for delivery flag is turned off. **Pls check VOV7 of TAD.**All this is already there for Std TAD. ( w/o delivery)* PS... the reason why the order quantity field is greyed out when you disallowed schedule line is that SAP treat the item like a credit memo request item and will start looking for the target qty field instead*. **- Irrelavant statement Anyways, I got the answer :CD is for service items (w/o delivery) Regards, Sumanth.G | | __.____._ Copyright © 2011 Toolbox.com and message author.
