Marc, 1. I suggest you do the tests, as I have done above (2 cases) & send the findings as screen-shots in a document to SAP, conveying that their confirmation is not what we are getting. This information shall help them too, in answering / supporting you. 2. When you get more information from SAP about this issue (functional details etc etc.) please post them here. Quite the opposite of how your system works. So it looks like the search for the needle in the haystack...where does SAP make the decision whether to update the follow-up documents or not?
