After doing some initial testing, during step - assign POD relevance to dlv item category, REN putting POD automatic = V, POD relevant = X. I am getting below error message. Please check this step.
Further investigating "Inbound delivery category"; I donot think REN is an inbound dlv category. An example of inbound delivery is EL.
I am assuming that your normal POD process works Ok and you have set up "reasons for deviation".
Please update me with your comments, more business process information (about RE + POD process); it would help.

Diagnosis
Correct the wrong entry in the "Automatic POD" field.
Procedure
You selected the "POD relevant" field. In this case, you only have to maintain the "Automatic POD" field if the delivery item category is an inbound delivery category. Otherwise, it should not be maintained at all.

I would like to investigate the use of POD Relevant delivery for Return Sales Orders. To this point I have set the configuration for Item Type REN to "V" and made the receiving customer (one of our plants) Relevant for POD. There must be more to this as when I create the Return Sales Order and set the POD Relevant flag at the header it does not set the POD Relevant flag at the item level on the sales order. The delivery also does not set the POD Relevant flag. What am I missing?
