The plant is determined from the sales view of the customer, if the material is valid for that plant. If the material is not valid, then it comes from the default plant on the material master.

Thanks for your quick response. My question is not still answered, unfortunately. I'm aware that data will be pulled in the logic u have given.
However, my question is, if the same material exists in different plants, how will it zero in on a particular plant.
