Reply from Eklavya on Jan 3 at 8:42 AM Hi Saps, There are practically two issues served by pro-forma invoice: 1. The quantity/material mentioned in the quotation may be different from the one actually ordered by the customer (sales order quantity/material). So a pro-forma is information going to the customer about the amount he is to pay for the ordered quantity. Whereas Quotation is a general enquiry made by customer about a set of materials. 2. The pro-forma invoice is at times used to give an invoice document to the transporter (truck driver etc) in place of the commercial invoice, when the commercial invoice is not generated and the truck is getting delayed.
