Hi Jim,

I agree with your explanation, yes that could happen.

My question is how does the user (end-user) know that availability check is taking place?

Availability check could be taking place and the settings have been setup to indicate that there is unlimited stock available OR the availability check could have been switched off / not taking place. In both these cases, system can confirm any amount of stock in the sales order.

If checking replenishment lead time is activated and the lead times in the material master are 0 days, then everything will be confirmed immediately, which could appear to the user that no atp checking is occurring.
