Hi,

Whenever we specify the Sales doc type, item category, usage and the higher level item, then the system automatically proposes an item category. That is called proposed item category. But we can also manually add our own relevant item category in addition to that.

Subject: Item category in copy control

Hi,

In item level copy control (let's say sales order to sales order), there is a field "proposed item category" What is the relevance of this field . I mean if I define ZTAN item category for the target document. Do I need to maintain the ZTAN item category determination in the config of item category determination (order type+item cat grop+usage+high level=ZTAN). If yes, then what is the point of maintaining ZTAN in "proposed item category". Can someone please explain the relevance of " proposed item category field". I do not have the test system to test.

regards
