Mary - The lead time is how Purchasing controls the proposed due date of new PO's. It's also how Purchasing communicates details like that to the rest of the organization (like you in SD, by way of the availability check). If they refuse to put the correct information in the system, then they're literally lying to themselves as well as to you. I would swing over to Torrance and discuss this with them, but my preferred model of clue stick has been discontinued (and outlawed, but we won't get into that). It's discouraging when two departments are at opposite sides of an issue like Best Practices. It's even worse to contemplate that changing the standard behavior of SAP might be the only way we can all get along - that just feels wrong, you know? There is no config setting to do what you're looking for, that I'm aware of. You could try the user exit in the availability check, or maybe in the sales order itself - but I know that's a very tricky proposition. Dave

Basically I agree with you. We are in Torrance, CA so maybe you'd come by and have a word with my users. Seriously, the buyers say that when a Pur Order is booked outside of lead time, these are exception cases and they admittedly refuse to change their lead time days only to have to change the days back. | | __.____._ Copyright © 2011 Toolbox.com and message author.
