May be you are aware of this, in any case it is interesting.
We create deliveries with reference or without reference to sales orders. In case of with ref. to sales orders we need Sales document type, item category and schedule line category & relevant copy control.
But in case of - creation of delivery without reference to sales order. We STILL need Sales document type, item category and schedule line category. Please note that in this case there is NO sales order, you are creating delivery directly.
The reason why - even if there is no sales order - system needs Sales document type, item category and schedule line category is because Sales document types - dictates what billing type
order item category - dictates relevance for schedule line, pricing, relevance for billing
schedule line category - dictates Movt. type, item rel for dlv.
An example would be delivery type LO. with Sales doc type DL, sales and dlv. item category DLN, with schedule line category CN |
