Laurie - There is a config solution that would require little or no user exit code. The movement type in the delivery is determined by the schedule line category in the sales order. You could configure parallel schedule line categories, which would be determined based on item categories (that you would also create), and have all of the new config be identical to the existing config except for the movement type. Then, the only remaining step would be to select the correct item category in the sales order to get the desired posting. You could use user exit code to override the item category based on order reason - but I wouldn't recommend it. Instead, I would suggest you train the order creators to use the item category INSTEAD of the order reason - and I have a reason for that! The problem with using Order Reason to control the accounting flow is that Order Reason can be changed even after the delivery has been created, and the movement type (and item category in the order) are pretty much set in stone. If someone creates an order with Order Reason #1, then the subsequent documents are created, and then someone changes the reason to #2, the goods issue will post to the GL associated with reason #1. Thank you so much for encouraging me to consider this solution. Now I will try to write my own user exit logic. | | __.____._ Copyright © 2011 Toolbox.com and message author. Toolbox.com 4343 N.
