I have tested it and works OK. (with multiple line item, each having a single schedule line)
I think the only "point of attention" is that one would have to make multiple line item, each having a single schedule line; in place of a line item with multiple schedule lines. I think it would be same amount of work for the order entry staff, as they create separate Schedule lines "manually", they shall do the same amount of work, in creating - not schedule lines - but multiple line items.
