[sap-log-sd] Difference between customer bill to and payer addresses

Can someone tell me the difference between the Bill To and Payer addresses on the Customer. We are considering using the Bill To address for invoices and the payer address for customer statements but want to make sure that using payer doesn't have ramifications we are unaware of.
