Sorry I'm not able to offer a good solution.
Business design of "intelligent numbering" is not recommended and this seems to verify the reason behind that. Add on the idea of changing it every year and it seems like a recipe for disaster. They will be unable to use any standard reports for history.

Dear experts,
My client is having some problem with the number range for customer master as client's customer number is huge.Their requirement is it should automatically changes as financial year end and system should automatically take new number range for new customer in new financial year.
eg; i have created customer ADC ltd with number A123 on 31st march 2011 and new customer PQR ltd on 01st April 2011 so number should be B001 (It should not be A124)
So how to develop this ? |
