Thanks for your reply, it is the actual status, manual setting of the
status.
But we would like a more automatic option, eg XD05 with a starting and
ending date.

Using t- code XD05 you could enter sales order and delivery blocks that would prohibit orders and deliveries. You would need to release those blocks when the customer is re-opened for business.
